The Renaissance town of Uzès, right at the source of the Eure, whose waters fed the Roman “Nemausus” (now the city of Nîmes) via a 55 km long aqueduct and the world-famous Pont du Gard, is an architectural gem. It has been carefully restored over the last 40 years with the help of the state and was awarded the “Ville d’Art et d’Histoire” label in 2008.
